Week 4 Update

The evaluation form is still pending. In the meantime, the group as been working on the code and documentations. Updates to the graduate were finished only recently due to the extra complexities in the graduate feedback process as well "missing" features in a local environment. Certain documents were also revised to now include step by step instructions with screenshots to improve clarity and ease of use. One setback to note is that the feature to enable students to modify their applications after submission is not feasible given the time frame due to the underlying structure of the pre-existing code. Below is a burndown and Gantt chart of the progress so far. 

 Week 3  Update

Majority of the changes requested by the client are completed except for the graduate form improvements. Aside from code modifications, the client also requested extra documentation regarding specific bugs and tasks that were not addressed in the pre-existing user manual. The group has also sent the evaluation form to the client and it is currently in progress

Week 2 Update

To recap, the client wished for the group to improve 3 main this. Undergrad features, grad features, and internal user (staff) features. So far the group is mostly done with improving the web application for undergraduate and graduate applicants.

The undergraduate form changes have been presented to the client and has been approved. However, an issue has been discovered where certain popups are not working as intended.

These changes and improvements are still pending review and approval from the client which is expected to be done tomorrow (Feb 12, 2025). Attached below is a table showing the tasks that the group has accomplished and are still working on.

A certain risk the group is facing is completing the admin functions before the 13th. Given the recent increase in academic workload and exam schedules the project has been slightly pushed back. To combat this, the group will have to work double time or continue working on the project past the 13th.

192 Week 1 Update

What's New?

Continuing from CS 191, the code review of all the key files and frameworks (Quasar to be specific) are complete. Given the technical complications experienced in the previous semester a rescoping of the project is underway. Another rendition of the undergraduate application form is mostly compete and to be discussed with the client tomorrow (Feb 5, 2025). Other UI components such as the graduate application, FAQ section, login, and application form are also under development.

The changes above may be altered depending on the client's feedback tomorrow. In fact, most of the subsequent steps from here will largely depend on tomorrow's meeting so we'll be sure to update the blog soon!
